Girls Softball: T-Birds Shutout Yellowjackets Behind Senerchia

Girls Softball on a Monday. I ventured out to Eastieville - North Branford at East Haven - both teams 2-0.

The T-Birds scored 1 run in the 2nd, 3 in the 4th, 1 in the 6th and 3 in the 7th for an impressive 8-0 victory. Sydney Senerchia was the winning pitcher and the Willy George DeMaio Top Dog of the Game. Sydney is pictured in the Blog.(Willy did not make the trip)

Senerchia struck out the first 10 batters she faced - an unbelievable accomplishment.

She finished with a 2 hitter and 17 strikeouts. Olivia Hemstock was 4 for 4, scored 4 runs and had an rbi while Amy Raucci hit a 2 run Home Run for the T-Birds(3-0). North Branford has not allowed a run in their first 3 games.

Julia SanGiovanni and Jessica Stettinger had the only hits for East Haven(2-1).

Weather could play havoc with the Tuesday schedule as rain is forecast.

I will be out and about this week as the weather and field conditions permit. I can't say the same for my little guy Willy. Usually, if he comes, it's a cameo appearance just to take the picture.

First Broadcast - Wednesday April 18th - Lyman Hall at Sheehan 5:55pm on ESPNradio1300, ESPNradio1300.com and Iheartradio.

But you can also WATCH the ENTIRE Game, with the Audio Play by Play, by going to 960WELI.com, go to the On Air Column, and click on High School Sports. It's that easy.

You could also go to the ESPNradio1300 Facebook Page.

Until then, covering games and giving out more Awards - nothing better than that!
