It was back to Orange on Wednesday for the Junior Softball(13-14) Regional Tournament.( 2 solo trips I might say)
Conn. East knocked off New Jersey 5-1 in the Semifinals. Carina(moonshot) Mancini had 2 hits including another Home Run. Ava Pitruzzello had a single and 2 rbis. Kelly Boothroyd was the winning pitcher.
The victory put Conn. East in the Championship Series(Best 2 of 3) against the defending champs - Rhode Island.
Game 1 was all Rhode Island. They scored 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning and never looked back in a 10-0 victory. Rhode Island had 14 hits in the game - Conn. East had NO hits. In fact, Conn. East had only 3 baserunners in the game.
Game 2 of the Series is Thursday morning at 9am.
