Wally and I sauntered back out to Orange Tuesday to see more of the Junior Softball (13-14)East Regional Tournament. It was Conn. East(Coginchaug) taking on New York.
Scoreless after 2 innings, Conn. East scored 1 run in the 3rd, 2 in the 4th and 2 in the 5th and beat New York 5-1.
Kelly Boothroyd got the win allowing only 3 hits. Carina Mancini had single and Home Run(it was a moon shot) and 2 rbis, Ava Pitruzzello had a single and 2 rbis and Amalia DeMartino had an rbi for Conn. East.
The win moves Conn. East to the Semifinals where they will meet New Jersey on Wednesday at 9:00am. If they win at 9am, they would play Game 1 of the Best of 3 Championship at 2:30pm.
The other Semifinal games pits Pennsylvania against Rhode Island.
The Tournament concludes on Thursday. The winner of the Tournament advances to the Junior Softball World Series in Kirkland, Washington.
