North Haven Gets 2 in 7th, Beats Wilton 5-4

posted by Coach -

It was a solo trip to North Haven Wednesday night - Junior Legion State Tournament - Wilton at North Haven in an elimination game.

Tied at 3-3 going to the 7th, Wilton scored a run on a bases loaded walk to take a 4-3 lead. But North Haven responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th for a 5-4 victory.

Ryan Sullivan singled home the game winning rbi for North Haven. The tying run scored on a wild pitch. John Gontarek got the win in relief and had an rbi. North Haven stays alive and will host Oakville on Thursday.

Noah Haberman had 2 hits and an rbi for Wilton, eliminated from the Tournament.

Other Junior Legion scores

Branford 8 Oxford 7, Stamford 10 Milford 0, Hamden 10 Danbury 1

Thursday

Branford at Milford, Hamden at Trumbull - both are elimination games

In the Senior(19u) Tournament

Best of 3 Series

Stratford 6 Trumbull 1, Trumbull 8 Stratford 4  Stratford is eliminated

So I saw the first meeting between Branford and Milford - an 8-5 Milford win. But both teams knew that night, they would have at least 1 more game.

On Thursday - winner stays in - loser can pack up their gear - I'll find out Thursday night. With this heat, Wally basically tells me to have a nice time and will see me after the game. But you never know.
