East Haven Wins District 4 (11-12) Softball Championship

I made a trip to the Old Tavern Road Complex on Sunday afternoon - Little League Softball action - the District 4 Championship 11-12,  The Road to Portland, Oregon.

East Haven defeated Bethwood-Orange 2-1 to win the Championship and advance to the Section Tournament starting Thursday in Orange.

East Haven scored their 2 runs in the 1st inning. Emilee Bishop tripled home 1 run and the second run scored on an error. Bishop was also the winning pitcher. Kayla Stefania had a single and a stolen base.

For Bethwood-Orange, Lauren Wasikowski had 2 hits and an rbi, Sydney Manzione had 2 hits and scored a run and  Cosette Zito had 2 hits.

A thoroughly enjoyable trip and it was good to get into Little League action again. I will follow the boys as well as the girls in the Playoffs.
