Meriden-Wallingford Suspended; 3 Way Tie for 2nd in Zone 2

The family trip to Wallingford was spoiled by rain and thunder on Tuesday night. Meriden and Wallingford were suspended in the 3rd inning with the score 2-2. The game will be finished as part of a Doubleheader on Wednesday night at Pat Wall Field in Wallingford. Meriden scored 2 runs in the top of the 1st without the benefit of a hit.

Two walks, a balk, a Sac Fly, and an error provided the 2 runs.

Wallingford answered with 1 run in the bottom of the 1st on an rbi single from Sam DeMaio. Wallingford tied it in the 2nd on an rbi single from Luke Horobin.

Other Zone 3 scores

Guilford 1 Cheshire 0, Middletown 7 East Haddam 3, Middletown 13 East Haddam 0

In Zone 2

Hamden 8 Stratford 1 Frank Niro got the win. Brendan Kirck and Trevor Brandi each had 2 rbis for Hamden. Hamden, Stratford and East Haven are all tied for 2nd Place with 6-3 records.

Branford 1 North Haven 0 TJ Beaudin Jr. got the win. Bryce Baker drove in the only run of the game.

New Haven 11 West Haven 0 Reynaldo Duprey got the win for New Haven.

As for Wednesday, Wally? and I on the road again. Two of the 3 teams tied for 2nd Place battle at Rochford Field. Sounds like a plan - but don't rule out a return trip to Wallingford after that for Game 2 of the Wallingford-Meriden Doubleheader either.

Just keep the gas tank filled and Wally at my side.
