The State Tournament - Everybody is 0-0

It doesn't matter what your record was during the regular season, when the State Tournament begins on Tuesday in Baseball and Softball, every team is 0-0. Single elimination is in effect. A great pitching performance, a funny bounce of the ball, a dramatic Home Run, and you could be sent home. So am I surprised when a Lower Seed knocks off a Higher Seed, definitely not.

You just never know.

I gave you the list of area teams that have Home Games on Tuesday in Baseball and Softball in Monday's Blog.

This week Wally and I will be out and about covering the Early Round games.

Remember, my next Broadcast will be on Monday, June 5th.

It will be the CIAC State Tournament Softball Semifinals from Biondi Field in West Haven. Coverage will begin at 3:55pm for Game 1 and 6:55pm for Game 2 on ESPNradio1300, ESPNradio1300.com & iheartradio.

As for Tuesday, you know one of the things about the tournament I don't like is when 2 teams, from the same Conference, that have already played each other twice during the regular season, meet again for the 3rd time in the First Round.

Such is the case for Tuesday's game between Lauralton Hall and East Haven, or should say Lauralton Hall-East Haven III. These 2 teams know each other well.

#19 Lauralton Hall at #14 East Haven in Eastieville and Wally(hopefully) and I will be there.
