Convicted Murderer Deemed Too Old To Be A Threat Stabs Woman To Death

Albert Flick spent 25 years in prison after stabbing his wife to death in front of her kids in 1979 and is going back to jail after he stabbed another woman to death, also in front of her two kids, in 2018.

Flick was also convicted of assaulting another woman in 2010 but a judge decided to ignore the prosecutor's request for a lengthy sentence saying that he was not a threat because of his age. He was released from jail in 2014, and just four years later he was accused of murder again.

A jury spent just 45 minutes deliberating after his two-day trial and found Flick guilty of murdering 48-year-old Kimberly Dobbie in front of her twin 11-year-old sons. He stabbed her 11 times outside of a laundromat, puncturing her heart and fracturing her ribs.

"His obsession had changed," Assistant District Attorney Bud Ellis told the jury in closing arguments. "It was a deadly obsession because it resulted in her murder. The obsession became 'if I can't have her, I will kill her.' And that's exactly what he did. It was thought out; it was deliberate; it was premeditated."

Flick will be sentenced on August 9 and faces 25 years to life behind bars.
