Education Department To Investigate College Admissions Cheating

The Department of Education is investigating eight universities for college admissions cheating. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is reportedly launching probes into possible violations of regulations dealing with federal student financial aid programs at the colleges. The schools include Yale, Wake Forest, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of San Diego, Stanford, Georgetown, USC and UCLA. The move runs parallel to the Justice Department's case against wealthy parents who allegedly bribed university coaches, administrators and standardized test officials to get their kids into elite universities.
