Asylum Requests From Illegal Immigrants To Be Denied

The Department of Homeland Security says it is tightening up the processing of requests for asylum.  This week DHS officials are saying immigrants' petitions for asylum will be considered as long as the immigrants lawfully present themselves at border ports of entry. Those who somehow manage to get into the country illegally and then request asylum will have their petitions rejected. The move is part of DHS's mission to fight illegal immigration and promote legal immigration into the United States.
