Crews Making Some Progress Battling Southwestern Wildfires

Federal authorities are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of whoever started the Martin Fire in Nevada.  It's the largest fire burning in the U.S. at over 439,000 acres.  Investigators have concluded the fire was human caused.  The Bureau of Land Management has offered a $2,000 reward. The fire is burning in a sparsely populated area, but officials note that it's damaged ranches and critical wildlife habitat.  The fire is 65% contained.

Meantime, investigators in California have determined the cause of the County Fire.  An improperly installed electric livestock fence sparked the fire, which has burned over 90,000 acres in Napa and Yolo counties.  It's the largest wildfire burning in the state, but it's now over 85% contained.  The person responsible for installing that fence has been cited.  Also in Northern California, fire crews are battling the Klamathon Fire near the Oregon border.  It's burned over 36,000 acres.
