Four Cops Shot Following Domestic Incident In South Carolina

Four police officers were shot and wounded following an hours long search for a suspect in the woods in York, South Carolina. The officers were taken to the hospital but their condition is unknown. 

According to Fox News, police were called to a domestic call around 10 pm on Monday (January 15) evening. The suspect, identified as Christian Thomas McCall, had fled the scene by the time police arrived. Police and K-9 units started searching the woods behind the home. The suspect first opened fire on police around 1 am, striking a K-9 officer. That officer was taken the a nearby hospital in a patrol car by another deputy. 

Police called in search helicopters and the SWAT team to scour the woods for McCall. Two-and-a-half hours later police came under fire again. The suspect wounded three more officers, and according to WSOC-TV, opened fire and a struck a police helicopter. Police returned fire and injured the suspect. He was arrested and taken to the hospital. Authorities have not released any information on the severity of his injuries. 

Trent Faris, a spokesperson with York County Sheriff's Office, asked for prayers for the injured officers.
