Remember the old Bittersweet Farm, the one-time "mecca" for artists, chickens and tea-lovers? Or maybe you remember it as Branford Crafts Village. Maybe you've never even been to that part of the state. If that's the case I can describe it as such: It was like a tiny little corner of Olde Mistick Village.

I used to love that place, and recall heading out there one day and it was just gone - not one clump of clay or (in my opinion aggressive) chicken to be found.

Soon a 37,000-square-foot Army training site will be standing where this glorious, utterly New England artist colony once stood. This compelled me to stroll down Memory Lane:
