Tigers at Spartans - Goralnik's Guesses

There is plenty of time to talk about records and picks for tonight's game but first, I must address something very important. Last night we watched a tremendous game as Hillhouse put a beat down on West Haven. In my pregame guess, I made a statement that was very poorly worded, and, for that, I am very sorry to anyone who was offended by my comment. When I write these guesses, I try and have fun with it, and I am often writing these in a hurry as I am commuting from my daily 9-5 to the site of the game that we are broadcasting and, in the case of last night, I was trying to expand on an idea and elaborate a thought and it came out crude and offensive. Again, I sincerely apologize. I also want to be clear about something else and I thought this well before last night's game.... I think Hillhouse is a SCARY team. They are an absolute force to be reckoned with. For all the talk about a number of other schools, the lady Academics should be feared come tournament time. They are a battle-tested team that has heart, spirit, and great communication on the court. They also have great skill up and down the team as they can beat you inside or outside and they can out muscle or finesse you any night of the week. Couple all of that with tremendous size and backcourt speed, they have the makings of a team that can make a run.

Speaking of talented teams with ability to make a run, Hand and Amity both qualify for that classification as well. Tonight's game should be a blast and is not an easy pick coming off my first basketball loss of the year. Sitting at 13-5, tonight's contest is one I really need to keep my strong start going. Not much to decipher between the two teams except one key fact. Hand has only lost twice this season (to Cross and NDWH) and both of those losses came on a Tuesday. Oh look, it's a Tuesday night.

Sometimes that's how you have to roll. For no other reason than Tuesdays don't seem like Daniel Hand's night, give me Amity at home in a game you do not want to miss. Fortunately, you don't have to as you can watch the game with Coach DeMaio's play-by-play on High School Sports - 960 WELI (iheart.com)
